Edgy Cat

Image

It was drizzling that morning we took outfit shots. We were not able to conduct our usual photoshoot on our “paradise”, since I’m wearing ankle boots and I would not want any mud on its velvet material.

Image

And no, I’m not just using Glenn’s (Click HERE to check out his blog) umbrella for props. Surprisingly, the whole umbrella idea played a factor to the arti-artihan feels I always aim for.

I wore my black detachable collar to add a girly vibe to my edgy look. I like how the collar made the whole look a perfect balance between edgy and girly. The ankle boots, studs on my top, and the leather skirt scream edgy. Meanwhile, the cat eyes, the bright pink top, pink nail polish and girly accessories whisper girly.

Ladies, let me highlight the importance of choosing the right leather skirt. I know that anything in good quality leather is pricy and there are countless of online shops and bazaars selling them for a cheaper price. I do not mean to generalize inexpensive leather skirts, but know that in most cases, with cheap prices comes cheap quality. it is important to make sure that your leather skirt Iooks leather and not a black garbage bag. Seriously, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Some leather skirts do look like a garbage bag made into a skirt and they do not look fashionable at all.  😦  Some pricy pieces are reasonable if they promise a good quality leather or leatherette.

The Witch

Recently, we had a photoshoot for the Lit Plotcast contest open to all freshman literature classes. Since I love photoshoots and the photographer is none other than my good friend, Glenn (click HERE to check out his blog), I felt comfortable enough to volunteer myself as the witch. Besides the additional 20 points for all the participants, I also thought that volunteering will add up to my list of adventures for my first semester in college. The shoot turned out to be great, and I really did enjoy dressing up both as a witch and an old woman.

Lucky enough, one of my classmates has this witch costume which in my eyes are fabulous! It is no ordinary witch costume. It actually is a long black dress with a little witch details on the sleeves and on the hemline. What’s more exciting about it is its low neckline and high slit on one side! I suppose it’s used for Halloween Parties, as in party-party! I was dressed up as a modern witch, indeed!

After the first scene, I had to transform into a good old woman. So wrinkles + powder on hair + vintage-y clothes for me!!

BUT..I’m not posting the photos here! You have to watch the video to see. 😉

After the shoot for the plotcast, the usual arti-artihan shoot followed. ❤

Anime Girl

09/19/13

A friend told me about the cosplay assembly happening that day, and that he actually thought I am participating in the said event. HAHAHA!

Image

When he mentioned that, I actually agreed that my outfit for the day do look anime-ish. I felt like an anime school girl the entire day!

Image

Image

Don’t my bangs just add to the whole anime thing? Thank you for cooperating, bangs!

It was extra windy that day, good thing I have my stockings on! This pair of stockings is literally the most comfortable I have ever worn in my entire life. It fitted me perfectly and its texture is just amazingly relaxing! This pair is anti-varicose veins. Although I don’t really have varicose veins, I’d say prevention is better than cure! Also, it really feels therapeutic and I’m not even kidding when I say that I didn’t feel hot or itchy at all. Sadly though, I don’t remember its brand. 😦

Barbie

09/17/13

This whole ensemble is inspired by Barbie. I adore Barbie.

I grew up watching Barbie films and collecting barbies as much as I can. I am aware, though, that the number of barbies I have is nowhere near those who really call themselves Barbie collectors.

Image

Image

I have had this top for quite some time now and I always had a hard time deciding on what to pair it with. When I got this bright pink origami skort, I knew at once that they would go well together.

Image

Image

Now the biggest surprise of this outfit is not actually the obvious Barbie colors, but the flats. I want to tell you about my obsession with keys. Almost all of my necklaces have key pendants on them, and my friends and family know how much I get excited whenever I see anything with a key/keys.

So when I saw this pair of flats, my heart skipped a beat and I just knew instantly that they were made for me! (HAHA) I got it at once and tried it on. The color is just as lovely, as well as the material. It was definitely love at first sight.

Image

Displayed in the mall are only the flats for the right foot. When I asked for the display’s pair, I went even more crazy to see that the design is a lock! IT WAS PERFECT. ❤

Forgive me for still being excited whenever I recall that sweet sweet moment with my flats. To compliment my new favorite flats, I wore this red lock and key necklace given by my beloved friend, Penas. Hi Penas. 😁😊❤

Image

Image

To give me more of the arti-artihan feels, I brought this cute pink pouch and wore my coral bracelet.

Tricia Wore Pants

If you noticed from my previous posts, I am really not a pants person. There is something with wearing pants that make me uncomfortable. Not to mention the extreme heat here in the Philippines and that I study in a University without aircon. Oh wait, we do have aircon. But I guess the odds were never in my favor and I only have one class with it.

MOVING ON..As much as I don’t like wearing pants, I cannot have no pants at all. If ever I am to buy and wear pants, I always prefer the ones with color. This one is my favorite. Besides the bright color, it is really very comfortable that it actually felt like I’m not wearing pants! And by that I do not mean I feel naked HAHAHA! It just doesn’t have the irritating “something” in pants that I do not like. If you ask me what that “something” is, I honestly don’t know.

ImageImage

Pants from Forever 21 are highly recommended. They are just smooth and light and available in pretty colors like this one!

Image

About my cross-print top, I know some people think they’re blasphemous. I highly disagree. I think that it all depends on the design of the cross and the design of the clothing it was printed on. The wearer is also a factor. Maybe if the cross is on a super short shorts’ crotch and the wearer poses inappropriately then that is definitely blasphemous!

To show off my pretty necklace, I put my hair into a bun.

Boho Top

A boho top is one of the easiest pieces to style. Wear it with a printed bandage skirt or simply a pair of shorts, add a belt and accessories, and you’re good to go.

Image

Image

I decided to wear a pair of shorts so I can move freely around the campus.

Image

Image

I personally like the braided strap of this boho top. It makes it more chic and more comfortable to wear.

I go to the library during my break time and it can be a little freezing there at times (Yup. We have aircon in Ateneo lol), so I brought a sweater with me and made sure it still goes well with my outfit.

ImageImageImage

To add a little something to my plain look, I wore my floral sneakers and animal print socks. My friends call this combination “mild gone wild” lol

Image

Do you see my animal print socks peeking? HAHAHAHA

PRESENTING: MY FIRST EVER PHOTO WITH MY FRIEND/ENGLISH AND LIT BLOCKMATE/PHOTOGRPAHER, GLENN!! (click HERE to check out his blog) The rest of our photos are funny because Glenn is too tall and when we tried to level ourselves with each other, we both looked ridiculously awkward HAHAHAHA! I chose this photo instead to show that we aren’t really as serious as we look in our photos. Whenever we shoot, we see to it that we have fun!

Image

And for the last frames, the usual Tricia arti-artihan. ✌

COMPLIMENTARY

One popular rule of fashion is that PLAIN GOES WITH PRINT. We have held on this for so long. But as we start to explore our own style, we begin to disregard the rules of fashion and wear the pieces we think would go well together.

Image

Image

Image

Image

We must not be afraid to explore fashion to discover our personal style. I believe that there should only be one rule in fashion: BE YOURSELF.

Let go of the idea that only plain can go with print, or even the need to follow the color wheel. Dress yourself according to your own preferences. Don’t let the fear of violating the “rules” of fashion get in your way. Just enjoy dressing up!

Image

For me, happy colors are always more exciting. They give off vibrancy to a dull and boring day. Not to mention that colors also make you look younger and fresh!

LINES AND CIRCLES

9/04/13

I had a few clothes left in my dorm closet for this week. When I woke up that morning, I had nothing in mind about my outfit for the day. Still, I managed to pull off this look with two pieces that I did not expect to go well together.
